Job Description
Join Intero Restaurant as a Sous Chef and help lead our kitchen team in creating exceptional farm-to-table Italian cuisine. We're looking for an experienced sous chef who shares our passion for sustainability and culinary excellence to support our Executive Chef and CDC in executing our rotational menu of seasonal vegetables, fresh made pasta and house butchered meats.
Sous chef responsibilities:
Support the Executive Chef and CDC in menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen operationsOversee food preparation, plating, and quality control to maintain our high standardsManage kitchen staff, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative cooking environmentMaintain appropriate food inventories and place nightly ordersTrain team members on cooking techniques, food safety, and our farm-to-table philosophyAdapt quickly to our rotational menu, working creatively with seasonal and available ingredientsLead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, respect and high performanceSupport hiring efforts and onboarding of new team membersConduct pre-shift meetings, station tastings and support ongoing coaching and developmentSeek opportunities to improve systems & team performance What we're looking for:2+ years sous chef experienceStrong leadership & organizational skillsGenuine enthusiasm for sustainable, locally-sourced cuisineKind and empathetic communication styleExperience with Italian cooking is a plusExperience with whole animal butchering is a plusCompensation & benefits:$55k or higher dependent upon experienceHealthcare Plan Inclusion OptionsPaid Time OffDiscounted Dining + Friends & Family DiscountsLearning Environment to Further Knowledge & Experience in Various Specialties.
What are the next steps:
Following an interview and stage, suitable candidates will be required to present a 3 course tasting menu to ownership. The tasting ingredients and all time spent in preparation of the tasting will be reimbursed by Intero.
