Sous Chef Oakwood Public Market Dripping Springs, TX Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $65,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Teamwork Cooking Cost control Team development Attention to detail Full Job Description Sous Chef Oakwood Public Market Oakwood Public Market is a dynamic, multi-concept destination featuring a coffee shop, pizza counter, deli, classic American soda shop, an upscale bar & restaurant with expansive outdoor seating and sweeping Hill Country views, plus a banquet room accommodating up to 60 guests. We're looking for a hands-on Sous Chef who leads from the front, takes pride in execution, and is motivated to keep learning and leveling up every day. The Role The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations across our diverse concepts. This is a working leadership position for someone who can jump on the line, guide a team through service, and help maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and efficiency. What You'll Do Lead by example during prep and service, ensuring excellent execution across all menus and concepts Maintain strong cooking fundamentals and solid knife skills Help train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to perform at their best Assist with ordering, inventory, food cost control, and waste reduction Uphold cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards at all times Collaborate on menu development, specials, and banquet/event execution Step in wherever needed to "get it done" and keep service running smoothly What We're Looking For Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Line Cook ready to step up Natural leadership style with the ability to earn respect and build teamwork Strong culinary fundamentals and attention to detail Calm, organized, and solutions-oriented under pressure A genuine desire to grow, learn, and improve every day Flexible and comfortable working across multiple concepts and service styles Why Oakwood Public Market A creative, fast-paced environment with variety and room to grow Opportunity to work with multiple cuisines and service formats Beautiful setting with outdoor spaces and Hill Country views Supportive team culture that values hard work, curiosity, and pride in craft If you're a motivated kitchen leader who loves cooking, thrives on responsibility, and wants to grow with a unique and expanding operation, we'd love to hear from you.
