ASSISTANT PASTRY CHEF
Position Summary Support the Executive Pastry Chef in delivering an exceptional pastry and dessert experience for Members and Guests through the execution of high-quality desserts, breads, banquet pastries, wedding cakes, and specialty pastry offerings at one of the premier private city clubs in the United States. Assist in overseeing daily pastry operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, organization, cleanliness, and presentation. This position requires strong technical pastry skills, leadership, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

$5.6 Million Essential Functions Pastry Operations & Production Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Pastry Department while ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all pastry production. Execute daily production for à la carte desserts, breads, banquet pastry, weddings, member events, and specialty functions. Support banquet execution, plating, and large-scale pastry production while maintaining luxury presentation standards. Assist in the execution of the Club bread program and specialty pastry offerings. Maintain an organized, clean, sanitary, and efficient work environment in accordance with Club standards and food safety regulations. Ensure pastry stations are properly stocked, organized, and prepared for daily service and banquet production. Assist with proper maintenance and care of pastry equipment and tools. Leadership & Team Support Support, train, and mentor pastry staff through hands-on leadership and teamwork. Maintain a collaborative and positive work environment while contributing to team productivity and morale. Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in delegating daily responsibilities and ensuring successful execution of all pastry operations. Step into a leadership role and oversee pastry operations in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef. Menu Execution & Creativity Assist in the execution of seasonal dessert menus, banquet offerings, wedding cakes, and custom pastry experiences. Support the creation and execution of plated desserts, buffet displays, specialty pastries, and holiday programming. Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and Culinary Team to execute custom desserts for high-end member events and wine dinners. Financial & Administrative Support Assist with monthly inventory, product organization, and ingredient management. Support recipe organization, costing, and maintenance of pastry standards and procedures. Assist with minimizing waste and maintaining operational efficiency within the department. Preferred Qualifications / Specialized Skills Strong pastry, plated dessert, bread, and banquet production experience in hotels, clubs, restaurants, or luxury hospitality environments. Experience with wedding cakes, specialty desserts, and high-volume banquet production preferred. Chocolate and confectionery experience, including molded chocolates, bonbons, chocolate décor, and specialty confections, a plus. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively, maintain professionalism, and lead by example.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
