Child Care Center Chef - 1+ year Cook Experience Required

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus and nutrition guidelines. Determine daily meal and snack counts and distribute food to classrooms. Ensure meals are prepared safely while maintaining high standards of sanitation and food safety. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen including appliances, cabinets, and food storage areas. Perform weekly food and supply inventory and submit a list of needed items to the Director. Order food and kitchen supplies from approved vendors within budget guidelines. Receive and verify deliveries to ensure accuracy of orders. Follow all state licensing, health department, and sanitation regulations related to food preparation. Remove food trays and leftovers from classrooms and dispose of them properly. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and academy events when requested. Assist with additional academy needs when necessary to support daily operations.

Qualifications :

Food Manager/Food Handler's Certification required or ability to obtain. Previous experience in food preparation, kitchen work, or food service preferred. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage kitchen inventory and meal schedules. Ability to work independently while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Must meet all state childcare licensing requirements and pass required background checks.
