Sushi Chef 5333 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77056 $24.02 - $28.93 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $24.02 - $28.93 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Hachi is a busy and well-established Japanese restaurant committed to serving high-quality sushi and providing exceptional guest experiences. We are seeking an experienced Sushi Chef who is passionate about traditional and modern sushi preparation, food quality, and teamwork. Responsibilities Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and specialty menu items to established standards. Ensure proper handling, storage, and preparation of seafood and ingredients. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation. Assist with inventory management and ordering of sushi-related ingredients. Follow all food safety and health regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials. Qualifications Minimum of 2-5 years of professional sushi chef experience. Strong knife skills and knowledge of fish preparation. Understanding of Japanese cuisine and sushi-making techniques. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Food Handler Certification (preferred or required depending on local regulations).
