As a Sushi Chef, you will be the creative force behind crafting authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes that delight our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine, attention to detail, and dedication to quality will elevate our dining experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry in a lively environment where innovation and tradition come together. You will be responsible for preparing sushi with precision, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and inspiring fellow team members with your culinary knowledge. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty items, ensuring authentic flavors and presentation. Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of sushi preparation and kitchen cleanliness. Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality seafood and produce. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new sushi recipes and menu offerings that excite our guests. Educate team members on proper sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation methods to foster a collaborative learning environment. Uphold efficient kitchen operations by managing prep work, portion control, and timely delivery of dishes during busy service hours. Engage with guests when appropriate to share knowledge about sushi ingredients, preparation methods, and cultural significance. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, and ingredient handling. Demonstrated ability to develop new recipes through creativity in culinary arts. Experience working with seafood, vegetables, rice preparation, and knife skills specific to sushi making. Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices in a professional kitchen environment. Previous experience in culinary education or training others is a plus. Passion for continuous learning about culinary trends, especially in Asian cuisine and sushi artistry.
