Full-time Summary Schedule Requirements:
Must be available to work a flexible schedule during the week, including weekends and holidays. Role Hires, trains, manages and coaches the pastry and baking team. Provide a quality product that is timely, fresh and meets quantity needs of banquets and restaurants. To work directly with the Executive Chef to maintain and improve the culinary operation. Must be a liaison with all departments within the hotel. Skills and knowledge to include baking/pastry education, cost control, communication skills, training skills and knowledge of all pastry/baking related tasks, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact and staff management knowledge. Qualifications 4-5+ years of experience in a high-volume/fine dining/Banquet/Pastry production kitchen, ideally within a hotel or resort setting. Must have a minimum of 3+ years' previous supervisory experience with organizing and scheduling employees to maximize efficiency. Extensive experience across multiple disciplines of pastry arts, including production, cake design, artisan breads, sugar artistry, and more. Advanced knowledge and hands-on skills in chocolate work and decorative artistry is desired. Basic P&L knowledge. A degree in Pastry Arts is preferred. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not a requirement. Ability to work a flexible schedule during the week to accommodate resort business levels.
