In this role, you will craft mouthwatering smoked meats, develop flavorful recipes, and oversee the entire grilling process to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Your culinary artistry will bring smoky, tender, and perfectly seasoned dishes to life, delighting our guests and elevating our culinary offerings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your barbecue mastery in a lively environment that celebrates bold flavors and culinary innovation. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of smoked meats, including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and specialty items using traditional pit-smoking techniques. Develop and refine menu items that highlight authentic barbecue flavors while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Manage the entire smoking process, including seasoning, marinating, and monitoring temperature controls for optimal results. Ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety standards and food safety regulations to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment. Collaborate with team members on meal preparation, plating, and serving to ensure timely delivery of delicious dishes. Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies necessary for barbecue operations; coordinate with vendors as needed. Uphold excellent food service standards by engaging with guests, explaining menu items, and ensuring a memorable dining experience. Experience Proven culinary experience in a professional kitchen setting, preferably with a focus on barbecue or smoked meats. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety protocols within the food industry. Experience in menu planning, catering services, or fine dining environments is highly desirable. Skilled in knife handling and meat carving techniques essential for quality presentation. Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus for understanding special dietary needs. Prior restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in food service operations and kitchen teamwork is preferred.
