The Junior Sous Chef plays a key role in supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, staff supervision, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role is ideal for a skilled cook ready to take the next step in their culinary career in a fast-paced, creative environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily management of kitchen operations. Oversee food preparation and ensure dishes meet established quality standards. Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow. Contribute to menu development, including specials and seasonal items. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations. Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and coordinate ordering as needed. Help train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional environment. Step into the Sous Chef role when they are absent, ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain consistency and innovation in dishes. Experience as a Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen. Strong culinary skills with a passion for high-quality food and presentation. Knowledge of kitchen operations, including stock control, safety, and hygiene. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills.
