Head Chef 6856 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23225 From $25 an hour - Part-time, Full-time From $25 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Chef to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, restaurant management, and customer service. This role is vital in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. The Shift Lead will serve as a key point of contact for staff and customers, supporting the overall success of the restaurant or hospitality establishment. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies. Lead staff training and development to uphold service standards, food safety, and cleanliness protocols. Oversee food preparation and presentation to meet quality standards, including casual dining experiences. Manage POS systems such as TOAST for accurate order processing and cash handling. Monitor stock usage to prevent shortages. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen and service areas. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. Assist with budgeting, labor scheduling, and overall food management to optimize operational efficiency. Participate in interviewing potential team members and contribute to staffing decisions. Maintain a positive work environment by motivating staff and fostering teamwork. Requirements Proven experience in food service management, including supervising teams in quick service & fast paced restaurants or fine dining establishments. Experience with POS systems such TOAST cash handling expertise required. Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or assistant manager experience; training & development skills preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and inventory control procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. Ability to manage shift operations efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality service standards. Strong communication skills with experience in interviewing and team management.
