The ideal candidate will bring extensive culinary expertise, leadership abilities, a positive attitude, and hard working mentality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage food preparation, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. The Sous Chef will support Chef in menu planning, staff supervision, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant or catering operation. Experience in pasta and pizza a plus but not required as we can train for the position. Responsibilities Assist in developing and executing innovative menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food prep personnel, ensuring efficient shift management and teamwork Oversee food production processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of dishes for service Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen Lead by example in food handling, preparation, and presentation to uphold restaurant standards Coordinate catering events and banquet services, ensuring seamless execution from setup to service Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards Assist with menu planning based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and operational needs Monitor kitchen operations during shifts to optimize productivity and maintain high-quality service Skills Proven experience in fine dining environments with banquet or catering experience preferred Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated team management capabilities Extensive culinary experience with expertise in food production, presentation, and kitchen management Knowledge of inventory management and control procedures within a food service setting Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative team environment Excellent understanding of food safety standards and proper handling techniques Skilled in menu planning, food preparation, and catering coordination Experience with restaurant or hospitality management is advantageous Ability to manage shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety Strong communication skills coupled with a passion for culinary arts and customer service excellence
