Job Description

Position OverviewPike Place Chowder is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Night Shift Chef to join our production team. This role focuses on preparing our award-winning chowders during overnight and early morning hours and supporting high-volume kitchen production across both our Post Alley and Pine Street locations.

ScheduleSaturday-Tuesday, plus one additional weekday shift (Wednesday or Friday) at our Pine Street location to create a consistent 5-day production schedule. The Pine Street location is approximately a 10-minute walk from our Post Alley kitchen.

Compensation$25/hour + Monthly Bonus PotentialKey ResponsibilitiesChowder ProductionPrepare Pike Place Chowder's award-winning chowders and soups according to company recipes and production standards.

Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, temperature, and presentation across all batches.

Execute daily production schedules in a high-volume kitchen environment.

Kitchen OperationsMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace throughout the shift.

Support opening production needs and ensure all products are ready for service.

Track and communicate inventory levels, prep needs, and supply requirements.

Food Quality & SafetyFollow all food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.

Properly label, store, and rotate products using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, prep areas, and storage spaces.

Team CollaborationWork closely with kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth daily production flow.

Communicate clearly regarding product status, shortages, or quality concerns.

Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen environment.

QualificationsPrevious kitchen or food production experience preferred, especially in high-volume or production environments.

Comfortable working overnight/early morning shifts (1:30am start time).Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.

Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced production setting.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Valid Washington State Food Worker Card (or ability to obtain upon hire).Reliable attendance and strong punctuality required.

Ability to lift and move kitchen products and supplies as needed.
