Job Description

WINEaLOT Wine Pub & Eatery is looking for an Assistant Chef to grow our Kitchen and Menu! The Assistant Chef will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of Menu Items while also maintaining a clean and organized kitchen by washing dishes and utensils. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Schedule is flexible. 2-3 days per week is expected Wednesdays through Fridays 4-9pm. Rotating Saturdays and Sundays.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and preparing meats. Follow recipes and cooking procedures to ensure consistency and quality of food. Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and stovetops, as needed.
Cooking:
Cook and plate meals according to established guidelines and recipes. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality. Adhere to portion control and presentation standards. Assist in coordinating food preparation activities with other kitchen staff members.
Dishwashing:
Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Operate dishwashing machines or wash dishes manually, ensuring proper cleaning and drying. Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for storage. Assist with the restocking of clean dishes and supplies as needed.
Kitchen Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including countertops, floors, and storage areas. Dispose of kitchen waste properly, following sanitation guidelines. Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notifying the supervisor when supplies are running low. Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper food handling and storage.
Teamwork and Communication:
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service. Communicate any issues, concerns, or suggestions to the supervisor or team members. Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen staff, if required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be 16+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
