This full-time leadership position is ideal for a passionate culinary professional who enjoys creating exceptional dining experiences in a private club environment. Located on Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront, Milwaukee Yacht Club has proudly served its members since 1871. We offer a dynamic culinary program that includes à la carte dining, weddings, private events, banquets, and member-focused special events throughout the year. What You'll Do Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations Lead and supervise kitchen staff during service Prepare and execute high-quality menu items with consistency and attention to detail Assist with menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings Manage food preparation, production schedules, and plating standards Maintain inventory, product rotation, and receiving procedures Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef Qualifications Minimum 3 years of culinary experience in a restaurant, private club, hotel, or banquet setting Previous supervisory or Sous Chef experience preferred Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership skills Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events ServSafe Certification preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid vacation and sick time Health insurance contribution available Employee meals during shifts Professional development opportunities Opportunity for advancement within a growing culinary program
