Job Description
About Hirsch Vineyards Hirsch Vineyards is a family-owned, biodynamically farmed vineyard and winery estate. Perched on a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Fort Ross, Hirsch Vineyards is the birth ground of great Pinot Noir on the extreme Sonoma Coast. David Hirsch founded the vineyard in 1980 to grow fruit and make site-specific wine. Winemaking is led by second-generation vigneron Jasmine Hirsch. Hirsch Vineyards offers private client tasting experiences by appointment in our intimate Healdsburg Tasting Room. Our team is growing, and we currently have an opportunity for a candidate looking for a Wine Educator role. Ideal candidate is available 2 days a week May-October, and 1 day a week in the offseason. Weekends and Mondays preferred. Primary duties include, but are not limited to : Host seated tastings at our Healdsburg Tasting Room. Communicate the story of our wines and vineyard. Set up for appointments and clean up after. Perform opening and closing tasks for the Tasting Room. Physically pack wine and restock. Help customers select wines and order. Enter orders and CRM notes in system. Carry out follow-up customer service activities such as writing thank you notes, sending emails, etc. Occasionally represent Hirsch at outside events or tastings. Required skills : Passion for and knowledge of wine (or willingness to learn). Ability to build and maintain customer relationships. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively. Ability to sell. Hospitality experience (winery, restaurant, hotel). Willingness and desire to learn about Hirsch Vineyards, biodynamic farming, and winemaking.
Qualifications :
Must be at least 21 years of age. Excellent verbal & non-verbal interpersonal communication skills. Flexible, team player, able to multi-task and willing to "go the extra mile". Capable of working solo - running the day's appointments, set up and clean up in between. Intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Customer Database. Able to work at minimum 1 weekend day a week.Physical Requirements :
