Job Description

Facility Monitor Summary Under direct supervision, the role of a Facility Monitor is to assure that only The Sea Ranch Association Employees, Members, authorized guests, and vacation renters are admitted to the use of the facility. The facility includes the swimming pools, tennis courts and other recreation areas. The Facility Monitor also is responsible for ensuring that users are aware of The Association's Rules and Regulations regarding the use of the Association Facilities. Representative Duties Maintains visible presence at Association recreational facilities; checks for proper Sea Ranch identification for all users; verify lap swimmer reservations; assist with making and/or cancelling reservations in the system; records daily statistics into computer spreadsheet. Reinforces Sea Ranch Rules with facility users and notifies Patrol Officers of incidents warranting intervention or attention; notifies the Facilities and Resources department regarding any observed maintenance or structure problems at the facilities. Organizational Relationships The Facility Monitor is a non-exempt hourly position reporting to the F+R Operations Manager. The job may be part-time or full-time, and may be seasonal, depending on departmental requirements.
Qualifications Guide Education and Experience:
Any combination of training or experience that directly relates to the duties of this position. The ability to read and write English is required. Basic computer knowledge and use of email is preferred but not required. A valid California driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report are required.
Knowledge and Abilities:
The ability to understand written and verbal directions is essential. The ability to assist the members of the Association and their guests in a positive and friendly manner and to establish effective working relationships with other employees is extremely important. Major Job Functions or Tasks to be Completed Provide guidance to all visitors of the facilities on how to sign in and properly use our amenities. Maintain visible presence at recreation facilities per schedule; greet members and guests and request Sea Ranch identification. Remind and inform members and guests of Association Rules when required. Record daily statistic into computer spreadsheet, including any observed conditions warranting attention from the Security department or other departments. Maintain radio/cell phone contact with Security Patrol, Association office and Facilities and Resources department regarding matters requiring their immediate attention All of the above specific job functions are essential to the successful performance of the job. Work History/Skills Work history involving interaction with and service to the public. Ability to read and write English at a sufficient level to complete required reports. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Education/Training Any combination of education or training which would indicate the candidate possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities required for successful completion of this job. Computer literacy recommended. Possession of a valid California driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record Personal Characteristics Ability to meet and interact with Association members and their guests in a friendly, positive and professional manner. Ability to work efficiently with other Association staff members. Ability to deal effectively with people in stressful situations. Ability to adapt to a wide array of work situations upon request.
