Program Manager or Assistant Program Manager GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to support the Agency's needs by providing services of safety and security to all Guests and staff at the shelter. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Complete all admission/intake paperwork completely with new Guests. Forward all paperwork to the appropriate party Review the Program handbook with new Guests and provide a brief orientation of the Program Conduct pat and pocket searches on all Guests when entering program. Check all bags for contraband and ensure that the Guests have not exceeded their maximum amount of allotted belongings in the room. Monitor Guests behavior to ensure the safety and security of all Guests, staff and facilities. Conduct Guest room checks and facility checks (both inside and outside the facility). Results will be documented in the hourly logs. Assist in the periodic, Guest Room Reviews, where a team of staff will check rooms for contraband, excessive food and belonging, room damage, and cleanliness. Assist in distribution of meals when needed. Complete all necessary documentation including log entries and incident reports De-escalate confrontations when possible to ensure the safety of Guests and Staff. Ensure that Guests are keeping their room clean and organized at all times. Provide additional cleaning supplies if needed. Assist with the removal of excess garbage from rooms when necessary. Provide guidance in personal hygiene and maintain guest personal hygiene supplies. Attend monthly staff meetings. Pack up Guest's belongings if Guest leaves Program unexpectedly. Label and secure belongings. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Accept and catalog donations as they are brought to the shelter. Perform other duties as assigned. Distribute Guest Mail Knowledge in HMIS Basic computer skills MINIMUM TRAINING EXPERIENCE AND HEALTH CERTIFICATIONS
Education :
High school diploma or Associate's degree in the human service field required. Minimum Years of Experience:
one (1) year of experience in related field required. Active Certification:
in good standing in Non-violent Crisis Intervention, CPR and Community First Aid and Safety license, and trained in the use of Narcan. Knowledge of:
mental health and substance abuse; have excellent written and oral communication skills and working with the homeless population. Driving Required :

Physical Ability :
Tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Sensory Requirements :
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate depths. Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Ability to communicate effectively with guest, staff, and volunteers. Environmental Factors :
Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, and toxic/poisonous agents.
