LIVE IN OVERNIGHT & WEEKEND RESIDENT SUPPORT STAFF CATEGORY

LOCATION
On-site at one of CLT's Properties in Boston or Lawrence
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
(INCLUDING, BUT
NOT LIMITED TO
): Be present at, or within 5 minutes commuting distance from the building during assigned on-call times, typically evenings/nights from 6:00pm to 8:00am (including holidays) and on weekends from 6:00pm Friday to 8:00am Monday. Participate in a biweekly (or more) check-in with their direct supervisor and other building staff to discuss ongoing concerns or building needs During assigned shifts, walk through entire building(s) a minimum of 3 times each evening (usually at 6:00pm, 9:00pm, and 11:00pm), as well as 3 times during the day on weekends and holidays (usually at 10:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm) to talk to resident(s) about observed rule violations and resolve issues such as: o unauthorized guests o propped-open, unlocked, and/or unalarmed entrance, exit, and unit doors o loose trash (indoors or out) o blocked hallways, doors or egress areas o unclean conditions, including bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms o excessive noise o inappropriate resident behavior o other health & safety concerns Complete Overnight/Weekend Coverage Checklist for each walk-through (list any disturbance(s) or issue(s) affecting residents, staff and property) and submit work orders when necessary Utilize security systems and review of camera footage as needed for urgent safety concerns or assisting police/emergency response Follow CLT policies and procedures related to Incident Report completion and submission, and communication to the team Be prepared to render aid in the event of a crisis, including notifying supervisor and calling for, and meeting with, emergency response when necessary Complete NARCAN training and be prepared to render aid in the event of an overdose Distribute CLT documents, notices, and mail to residents as needed Remove trash to sidewalk for pickup at designated times and return empty barrels to storage area after pickup Keep sidewalk clear of trash, snow, and ice on weekends, holidays, and when maintenance staff are unavailable, per city regulations and as instructed Must attend any mandatory CLT All-Staff trainings on First Aid, De-escalation, Overdose prevention and response, Housing First, Trauma Informed care, & CLT policies and procedures (estimated 44-5 times per year during normal business hours) Some locations require light janitorial duties and locking of kitchens and laundry rooms during the 11:00pm walkthrough Observe and maintain discretion/confidentiality of residents, staff, and agency The property must be the staff member's primary place of residence.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Bilingual preferred, with fluency in English and Spanish Ability to work comfortably with people of varying racial/ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, language and socio-economic differences Prior experience working with populations similar to those we serve, including the chronically homeless, people with HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C, people with histories of drug and alcohol addiction, and people living with mental illness Patience and the ability to handle difficult situations, maintain good boundaries, and set limits by being clear and firm without instigating or escalating conflict
