Full Job Description Classification:
Non-Exempt Shelter Advocate Classification:
Non-Exempt The Shelter Advocate is based in the Crisis Line office inside the Noah Project Shelter. Noah Project serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. This position provides on-site advocacy services to all shelter residents daily, as well as assisting with conducting intakes and crisis line coverage. Regularly scheduled hours are 10 am-7 pm, some flexibility may be required. Includes on-call rotation and holiday rotation. Essential Job Functions Conducting daily safety checks of shelter communal living areas and rooms. Fulfilling resident basic needs requests through our emergency storeroom Preparing rooms for new intakes and collecting linens from exited clients. Ensuring the working schema remains accurate throughout the day. Completing sanitation procedures for incoming items. Conducting weekly All-Resident meetings. Including coordinating with community partners to present at the All-Resident meetings Receive crisis calls and provide immediate crisis intervention for all victims of domestic violence, dating violence, and sexual assault. Complete intake and exit interviews and complete all required documentation on resident and non-resident clients. Assist residents in settling into the shelter, room and providing a tour. Assist clients' immediate needs and refer them to appropriate resource, or utilize Noah resources. Control access to the facility by residents, non-residents and visitors, oversee the security system and follow all security procedures. Complete documentation, data/statistical entry and any other required paperwork on a timely basis to include maintaining client and administrative files. Ensure residents are following shelter guidelines and responsibilities. Chores, quiet hours, etc.
Salary:
