KITCHEN ASSISTANT / COOK (Seasonal, now through September; Includes staff housing)

Overview Hope Alaska's Bear Creek Lodge is a young lodge with an on-site restaurant (Dirty Skillet) a small coffee shop and nightly rental guest cabins. We work hard, quick and with great delight. You will be working 5-6 days a week for 4+ months of our summer season alongside our Head Chef. Your primary responsibilities will be to execute the recipes to our standards, maintain the line with consistency and team play, close and clean the kitchen each night. On weekends, you will be responsible for brunch during the day. The schedule is long, the hours go by quickly but are many, and the opportunity to learn and grow is abundant. Kitchen Duties

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
• Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Assist with meal planning and inventory management
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation
• Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests
• Assist with catering events as needed Experience
• Previous experience in the food industry or as a cook is preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills Compensation You will be offered free shared staff housing, which is included in your compensation. You will be guaranteed a minimum of $18
• 22/hour (DOE) plus a percentage of daily tips and overtime.
