Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring that all dishes meet our standards for taste, presentation, and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation, kitchen operations, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Located in beautiful Sterling, Ak, this cafe has a great menu and atmosphere. Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards Assist with menu planning by preparing daily specials and ensuring ingredient availability Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines Cook a variety of menu items with precision, including main courses, sides, and appetizers Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food in a timely manner Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or food industry settings Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and servers Experience with dietary department procedures and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving processes enhances overall performance Join us to bring your culinary passion to life!
