The Cook ensures the kitchen is clean, sanitary, and organized at all times, follows proper food handling and storage procedures, and keeps accurate meal and inventory records. The ideal candidate will be familiar with CACFP meal patterns for childcare centers, able to plan and prepare balanced meals for groups, and follow all dietary and allergy requirements. Applicants must have a valid Food Handler's Card, be knowledgeable of local health department standards, and pass a criminal background check. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the ability to work efficiently and maintain a positive, professional attitude in a childcare environment. Staff are responsible for maintaining yearly CCDF training and ongoing training, which are required for Child Care DHR Licensing. Physical requirements include standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds.
