Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service and dietary support within assisted living, nursing home, or hospital environments. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, food handling, and ensuring the delivery of nutritious, safe, and appealing meals to residents and patients. The Dietary Aide will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of sanitation, customer service, and dietary department operations while fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere. Duties Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards. Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism, ensuring proper portioning and presentation. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular sanitation, cleaning, and bussing duties. Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination. Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking stations, and assisting with inventory management. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery and accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions. Engage with residents or patients courteously to enhance their dining experience and address any concerns promptly. Follow all food safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices, to uphold health standards across the facility. Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of food handling, preparation, serving, and sanitation procedures. Experience in dietary aide roles or similar positions supporting nutritional services is preferred. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations relevant to healthcare or institutional settings. Strong time management skills to efficiently coordinate meal service within scheduled times. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience in food production or culinary settings enhances the ability to support diverse dietary requirements effectively.
