Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary Position Summary Position seasons and cooks food for hospital patients, employees and visitors. Prepares high quality, appealing food items for all assigned areas following standardized recipes. Position grills and does cold prep. Maintain cleanliness standards set by Department of Health Services. Responsibilities Prepares food items according to standard approved recipes (hot, cold production, catering and grill). Prepares all food items using standard guidelines for quality, infection control, sanitation, safety and chemical use. Prepares food items in a timely manner. Operates all equipment following specific guidelines for safety. Cleans, organizes, stocks and sanitizes work area. Accurately records all assigned temperature logs. Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Requirements Experience:
Six months food service experience.
Licensure/Certifications:
An unexpired Maricopa County Food Handler Care; or a valid card or certificate issued by an ANSI-accredited food handler training program; or a valid food handler card or certificate issued by another county within Arizona.
Preferred Requirements Education:
High school or equivalent preferred to enable individual to follow oral or written instruction in English.
Experience:
One year cooking experience preferably in an acute care setting
Special Skills:
Ability to read in English to follow verbal and/or written instructions. Ability to prioritize work.
