In this energetic role, you will oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensure food safety standards are met, and inspire your team to achieve culinary excellence. Your expertise in food handling, menu planning, and fine dining will be instrumental in creating memorable meals that delight our guests. This is a paid position designed for passionate culinary professionals eager to lead by example and elevate our kitchen operations. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food preparation and timely service Oversee food handling procedures, maintaining strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines Assist with menu planning, including developing new dishes that align with our culinary vision Supervise kitchen staff, providing training on knife skills, food prep techniques, and proper food industry practices
Food Preparation:
Prepare, season, and cook high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
Quality Assurance:
Taste and review prepared items to confirm flavor profiles and proper food temperatures before they are served.
Inventory Management:
Monitor food and supply levels, rotate stock using FIFO methods, and assist with inventory tracking.
Staff Training:
Assist in training new kitchen employees and delegate prep and cleaning tasks efficiently.
Safety & Sanitation:
Ensure compliance with Maricopa County health codes, maintain HACCP standards, and oversee closing/cleaning duties. Support catering events and special functions by coordinating meal preparation and service logistics Requirements Minimum of 2-4 years of professional cooking experience, with 1+ years in a lead or supervisory role preferred. High school diploma or culinary degree. Valid Maricopa County Food Service Worker Card and ServSafe Certification. Extensive culinary experience in fine dining environments or restaurant kitchens Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, food handling, and sanitation practices Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving in fast-paced settings is a plus Weekly Manager meeting attendance Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your skills make a real impact!
