Duties Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in menu planning by suggesting seasonal or innovative meal ideas that align with dietary guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients efficiently for service. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives, grills, ovens, and fryers. Support dietary department needs by understanding special dietary requirements and accommodating them appropriately. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours while maintaining high standards of food quality. Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to promote safety and prevent contamination. Assist with catering orders or special event preparations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and initiative. Skills Proven experience as a line cook with a focus on breakfast and lunch service in a fast-paced environment. Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods. Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices. Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards. Background in dietary aide roles or dietary department experience is highly desirable. Fine dining experience or restaurant experience that emphasizes quality presentation and attention to detail. Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
