Job Description
Food & Beverage -- Healthcare Food Service Carmel Hills Care Center is a private, family owned 99 bed skilled nursing facility on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. We strive to empower all staff members to take ownership of their role within the building to make a difference in our residents lives. We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate individuals dedicated to working as part of team who have the desire to sharpen their skills and be rewarded with advancement opportunities. Full-time and Part-time Cook position is available. Weekends AM and PM shifts. As a Cook, you will be expected to be able to: Promote the core values of Carmel Hills; Compassion, Respect, Accountability, Quality & Professionalism, Complete & Accurate Documentation Prepare menus as directed following recipes, quantities and consistencies as directed Attend menu conferences and plan food quantities to meet serving needs of the residents Clean and wash small equipment Keep work area clean Clean stove, steamer, slicer and blenders Set up steam table for meals Report to Director of Food & Nutrition Services any problems with staff, food needs or any other irregularities Learn and recall basic principles of food prep and equipment use Follow direction, but think on your feet and provide feedback Maintain a clean and sanitary work area Be mentally alert throughout your day Read and understand basic English Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but not required. We offer competitive pay and benefits and our Team will assist you in training and developing your skills. This position does require you to have the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, reach for objects on shelves and stand/walk for periods of greater than 20 minutes.
