$29.00 - $32.00 per hour Job description: OverviewPosition Summary The Lead Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and executing all grilled menu items to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation in a fine dining environment. In addition to culinary responsibilities, this position provides leadership and guidance to line cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring efficient kitchen operations, adherence to food safety standards, and exceptional guest dining experiences. Key Responsibilities Culinary & Operational Duties Prepare and cook premium steaks, seafood, poultry, and specialty grill items according to established recipes and fine dining standards. Ensure proper cooking temperatures, portion control, and plate presentation for all dishes. Set up, stock, and maintain the grill station before, during, and after service. Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring only the highest-quality ingredients are used. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and proper storage of products. Minimize waste through proper food handling, preparation, and storage procedures. Leadership & Team Development Lead and support grill station staff during service, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Train, mentor, and coach new and existing cooks on recipes, cooking techniques, plating standards, and kitchen procedures. Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance to maintain productivity and quality standards. Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Communicate clearly with chefs, managers, and kitchen staff to coordinate service and resolve issues quickly. Assist management in maintaining a positive, respectful, and high-performing kitchen culture. Help enforce company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a grill cook or line cook in a fine dining, upscale restaurant, or high-volume culinary environment. Previous supervisory, trainer, or leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of grilling techniques, meat temperatures, seafood preparation, and food presentation. Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices. Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
