This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and an understanding of specialized dietary needs to ensure residents receive meals that support their health, safety, and overall well-being. The Line Cook works closely with the culinary team and care staff to follow menu plans, accommodate modified diets, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Adherence to food safety standards and sanitation guidelines is essential at all times. In addition to cooking duties, the Line Cook must demonstrate patience, compassion, and professionalism when interacting with residents, recognizing the unique challenges and sensitivities within a Memory Care environment. The role also requires reliability, strong communication, and the ability to respond promptly to operational needs, including maintaining communication through required devices such as radios. Overall, this position plays a critical role in enhancing the daily quality of life for residents by providing consistent, high-quality dining experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients Support catering events and special functions with efficient meal preparation and service Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations Follow all food handling regulations and safety procedures to uphold hygiene standards Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service environments Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus Knowledge of menu planning, food safety, and food handling best practices Restaurant or kitchen experience within the food industry demonstrating culinary competence Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting Excellent communication skills for serving guests and collaborating with team members
