Job Description

Prep/Line Cook - High-End Champagne Bar (Part-Time) Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar - Walnut Creek, CA $18-22/hr DOE + Tips Looking for someone to work Mon-Thurs 3-9pm (roughly) and someone to work Friday & Saturday 12-10pm and Sunday 12-7pm Must have reliable transportation, be able to shuck oysters and have speed for making charcuterie boards, duck fat fries, caviar set ups, and raw oysters ⸻ About Us Fizz is a high-end champagne bar with curated small plates, charcuterie, and beautifully presented dishes. We operate a small, organized, and high-standard kitchen (not a chaotic restaurant environment). We're looking for a teachable, detail-oriented, reliable Prep/Line Cook who takes pride in executing consistently and maintaining a clean, organized space. ⸻ What We're Looking For Teachable & Coachable Follows the Fizz way of doing things No ego, no "this is how we did it at my last job" mentality Open to feedback and direction Detail-Oriented & Consistent Strong attention to plating and presentation Can follow recipes precisely and maintain consistent quality Executes prep lists efficiently Self-Motivated Uses slow periods to prep, clean, organize Understands that idle time = opportunity to stay ahead Focused, efficient, and hardworking Professional & Team-Oriented Understands hierarchy and respects the role Works well in a small-kitchen environment Reliable, punctual, and consistent ⸻ Responsibilities Execute daily prep according to Fizz standards Prepare small plates and charcuterie with consistent, clean presentation Maintain a clean, organized station and follow food safety standards Complete prep lists, opening duties, and closing duties Support service on mondays and tuesdays Communicate low pars and follow kitchen systems Assist front of house during downtime with polishing glasses and bringing dishes to back of house ⸻ Schedule This role is part-time with two schedule opportunities.
Shifts include:
Monday -
Thursday:
3pm-9pm Friday -
Saturday:
12pm-10pm, Sunday 12pm-7pm Additional hours may be added based on volume. ⸻ Requirements 1-2 years of kitchen experience preferred (but willing to train the right focused, teachable person) Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent presentation Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs Reliable transportation Must have food handler's card Knife Skills Must be authorized to work in the USA and complete all required new hire documents Must have food handlers card Will be paid to do shopping ⸻ Why Work at Fizz Calm, organized, positive work environment High-end kitchen with high standards Small, supportive team Opportunities to develop new skills and grow supportive of creative thinking and cultivation - we love ideas!
