The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for residents, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents through quality meal preparation and service. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and menu plans tailored for residents in a Skilled Nursing Home setting Assist with menu planning to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences Ensure all food handling, storage, and preparation adhere to food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management Follow proper knife skills and food preparation techniques to ensure efficiency and safety Assist with catering services or special meal events as needed Serve meals in accordance with established procedures, ensuring timely delivery to residents Collaborate with dietary staff to meet nutritional requirements and enhance resident satisfaction Experience Prior experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles preferred Experience in food preparation within a restaurant, catering, or fine dining environment is advantageous Knowledge of menu planning, food safety, and food handling standards necessary for the role Culinary experience including knife skills, meal preparation, and cooking techniques required Familiarity with the food industry standards related to serving residents in a healthcare setting is beneficial Previous kitchen experience in a healthcare or senior living facility is a plus This position offers an engaging work environment where culinary skills directly impact resident health and happiness.
