This role is essential in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary and medical needs of our residents. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and physician-ordered diets Modify meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including low sodium, diabetic, heart-healthy, renal, and texture-modified diets (pureed, soft and bite size) Ensure food quality, proper portioning, and attractive presentation Follow all California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Title 22 dietary regulations Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines) Properly store, label, and rotate food inventory Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work environment Collaborate with dietary staff and management to meet resident needs Assist with inventory control and minimizing food waste Qualifications Previous cooking experience in a senior living, assisted living, or healthcare environment Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets Understanding of food safety standards and regulations Ability to follow menus and dietary plans accurately Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Preferred Qualifications ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience working with elderly or medically complex individuals Experience preparing texture-modified diets Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Benefits Competitive pay Flexible scheduling Supportive and team-oriented environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in residents' lives Schedule Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed Work Location In person - Lincoln Glen Manor, San Jose, CA How to Apply Apply through Indeed or apply directly with
