The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a desire to learn and grow within the food industry. As an Assisted Living Cook, you will support the head cook in preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that all food handling practices meet safety standards. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals to our clients while fostering a positive dining experience. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and menus. Support menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Handle food safely and efficiently, adhering to all food handling guidelines. Utilize kitchen equipment and tools, including knives, with care and precision. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces. Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs or preferences. Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge. Experience Previous experience in food service or culinary roles is preferred. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment is a plus. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices is essential. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A willingness to learn new cooking techniques and expand culinary knowledge.
