Job Summary Acme Burger is looking to add to our commissary prep team! We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cooks to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will assist in food preparation, ensuring that all dishes meet quality standards and are ready for service. Your energy and culinary skills will help create a welcoming environment where delicious meals are crafted efficiently and safely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while contributing to a vibrant food service operation. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and assemble components according to established recipes and menu specifications Assist in cooking, plating, and portioning food items with precision and consistency Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including utensils, equipment, and storage areas Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times Support meal preparation for various service periods, including catering events if applicable Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality dishes Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly valued Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards Experience with menu planning, meal assembly, and food handling in a fast-paced environment Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen tools and equipment Background in restaurant or food industry settings demonstrating reliable food service skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of catering, serving, and general kitchen experience is a plus Give us a shout and come see what Acme is all about!
