Job Description
Atterdag Village of Solvang is a Continuing Care Retirement Community, offering our residents independent, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing care. Our Nutrition Services team works together to provide the highest quality of care to our residents, proving that we are People Who Care.
Requirements:
Must pass state required physical, and TB test. Must be fingerprinted and free of conviction. ServeSafe Certificate Preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, receive written and oral instructions and possess good interaction skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, complex diet orders and work assignments. Numerical ability necessary to make various computations in keeping work records, and in recipe preparation. Must be able to safely perform þ essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Responsibilities:
Preps and prepares meals according to menu cycle, standardize recipes and production sheets. Initiates cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedule. Performs food temperature checks and documents information according to all state and federal regulations. Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability. Helps with Lunch meal as needed. Review dinner production sheets, prep for dinner meals and prepare for next day service. Follow daily task checklist during shift. Supervises work activities of Trayline/Cook's Helper. Sets up, breaks down and cleans trayline steam table each shift. Handles, stores and prepares leftovers per state, federal and facility regulations, policies and procedures. According to state, federal regulations and company policies, cleans and sanitizes prep tables, work area, including flat top grill, stove burners and steamer. Breaks down various kitchen appliances such as food processor, can opener and runs through cleaning cycle in dish machine. Does end of day walk through and checks kitchen, bakery, coolers per daily task list. Lock up kitchen, main store room and outside store room. Answer kitchen phone with curtesy and respect. Attend staff meetings, department meetings, and inservices as required, make reports and maintains files as required by state and federal regulations. Follow and adhere to all regulatory standards of federal, state and facility's rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Understand facility's fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies. Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties, including wearing required Dress Code items, including non-slip shoes, and when required safety related protective equipment. Performs related work as required.Pay:
