Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep & Assembly Cook to join our kitchen team. This role involves preparing ingredients, assembling on-demand orders, and supporting the kitchen operations to ensure high-quality meal service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and food safety standards, with experience in food industry settings. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, communication, and teamwork are essential. You'll work as part of a small, collaborative team focused on consistency, quality, freshness, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Daily Prep Prepare and batch ingredients for the bowls menu (rice, proteins, veggies, sauces, toppings, etc.) Support prep for the coffee shop (burritos, sandwiches, teas, etc.) Handle basic knife work (slicing, cubing, dicing, etc.) Manage the range and grill station (sauteeing, grilling, boiling, etc.) Ensure proper labeling and food storage safety. Follow recipes and portioning standards for consistency. Line Assembly & Service Quickly assemble bowls to order following recipes and presentation standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked service line and workstation. Communicate with the team to restock and rotate ingredients throughout service. Food Safety & Cleanliness Follow all ServSafe food safety standards for hot and cold holding, labeling, and storage. Sanitize work areas and follow opening/closing cleaning checklists. Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen upkeep as needed. Teamwork Communicate frequently and effectively with coworkers and managers. Jump in where needed — this is a cross-trained, collaborative kitchen. Qualifications 2+ years of food service, prep cook, or line experience required. Experience with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and meal assembly. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team environment. Schedule & Compensation AM shifts run from 9:30am•3:30pm , PM shifts run from 3:00pm•9:00pm . Shifts may adjust depending on prep and service needs.
Pay range:
$17•21/hour , depending on experience. Free staff meals, periodic bonuses, opportunities for growth.
