In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of flavorful dishes using the saute technique, which involves cooking food quickly in a small amount of oil or fat over high heat. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional dining experiences, whether in a fine dining setting or catering environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, contribute to menu creation, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of dishes using sauteing techniques, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that highlight fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation, adhering strictly to food safety protocols and sanitation standards. Assist in meal preparation for special events or catering orders, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality. Use knife skills proficiently for slicing, dicing, and julienning ingredients required for various recipes. Support the kitchen team during busy periods by managing multiple orders with speed and accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or culinary environment, especially with saute techniques. Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards. Experience working in fine dining establishments or catering environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods related to the culinary arts. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not required.
