This role supports the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in executing a refined, modern menu that reflects The Quoin's commitment to elevated hospitality, thoughtful sourcing, and exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, standards, and plating guidelines Maintain station readiness for service, including prep, organization, and cleanliness Execute service efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining quality and accuracy Properly handle, store, and label food to ensure freshness and food safety compliance Assist with daily prep lists, stock rotation, and inventory awareness Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service flow and communication Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards (ServSafe knowledge preferred) Contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned Qualifications 1-2 years of experience as a line cook in a professional kitchen (upscale or hotel experience preferred) Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen organization Ability to follow direction, recipes, and standards with consistency Calm and focused demeanor in a fast-paced service environment Passion for food, hospitality, and continuous learning Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunities for growth within a boutique hotel and chef-driven restaurant environment Collaborative and supportive kitchen culture Employee dining discounts and hotel benefits (where applicable) The chance to be part of a distinctive, design-forward hospitality concept About The Quoin The Quoin Hotel & Restaurant is a boutique luxury property in the heart of Wilmington, blending historic architecture with modern design.
