What you will have an opportunity to do: The Hilton University of Florida Conference Center Gainesville is seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join the culinary team at Shula's Steak House. This position plays an important role in supporting both the hotel's lunch service and Shula's evening operations through food preparation, station setup, and line support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, takes pride in quality and consistency, and works well as part of a team. Schedule Typical schedule is 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Flexibility is required based on business levels, events, and operational needs Weekends and holidays may be required Essential Responsibilities Prepare ingredients, cook, and assemble dishes according to recipes and chef specifications Support lunch service operations for the hotel restaurant and banquet outlets as needed Complete prep work for Shula's dinner line and assist with opening line setup Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely and consistent manner Restock ingredients and maintain organized workstations to support smooth kitchen operations Follow portion control standards and minimize waste to maintain food cost goals Set up and clean stations according to restaurant and kitchen protocols Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, and prep areas Comply with all sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards Monitor quality and freshness of ingredients and products Assist with additional kitchen duties as assigned by the Line Supervisor, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef Qualifications Previous line cook or prep cook experience required Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices What are we looking for?
