Kitchen Prep Cook

Job Summary:

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in basic cooking tasks to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently. This role involves following recipes, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting chefs in meal preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. Measure and portion ingredients according to recipes. Prepare meats, seafood, and poultry for cooking. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, tools, and equipment. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations. Store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. Assist with unloading and organizing kitchen inventory and supplies. Follow instructions from chefs and kitchen supervisors to ensure smooth food preparation. Wash and store food prep equipment and tools used. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen safety. Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
