Status:
Full-Time / Part-Time Job Summary Alder & Oak is looking for detail-oriented Prep Cooks to lay the foundation for our Mediterranean-inspired menu. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients, from fresh produce and seafood to house-made sauces and dough, ensuring the line is fully stocked for service.
Key Duties Preparation:
Follow recipes and portion specifications to prepare ingredients for the line (chopping vegetables, butchering proteins, simmering sauces).
Wood-Fired Prep:
Assist in preparing specialty items for the wood-fired oven, including handmade doughs and marinated skewers.
Organization:
Label, date, and rotate all prepared items (FIFO) to ensure maximum freshness and minimize waste.
Cleanliness:
Maintain a sanitized workstation and assist with receiving and putting away ingredient deliveries.
Efficiency:
Complete daily prep lists within designated timeframes to ensure the kitchen is ready for opening.
Requirements Experience:
1+ years of prep or line cook experience preferred.
Skills:
Solid knife skills and the ability to follow technical recipes accurately.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long shifts, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Reliability:
Must be punctual and disciplined, as the restaurant's success starts with your morning or afternoon prep.
Availability:
