Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Dishwasher to join our culinary team in our Assisted Living Facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped efficiently and effectively for our kitchen operations. This position is perfect for individuals looking to grow their culinary skills in a dynamic food service environment. Duties Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients according to recipes and specifications. Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards. Dishwashing after meals. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during restaurant operations. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed. Follow proper sanitation practices while handling food items and cleaning kitchen equipment. Support the culinary team with any additional tasks as required to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Skills Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry. Experience in meal preparation or working as a cook in an Assisted Living Facility or a restaurant or catering environment is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining quality standards. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new cooking techniques and recipes.
