Job Description

General Summary :
Provides food services for residents and employees. Responsible for providing a quality dietary experience by maintaining a pleasant and clean environment.
Position Responsibilities :
Washes, peels, slices and mixes vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes, entrees, appetizers and garnishes and desserts. Both shifts will be responsible for ensuring there are fresh homemade desserts for their shift. Adhere to proper food safety techniques in handling and preparation. This includes proper personal hygiene, hand washing, gloves, knife skills, etc. Use proper prep par levels that are set for the daily menu. Follow recipes and comply with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures and Department of Health regulations Maintain the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety for the work area to include prep tables, countertops, refrigeration units, floors, walls, and shelving. If any item is missed and not prepped by the previous shift and the ALF's call for the missing item it becomes the current shifts responsibility to complete that item which must happen immediately and ensure the item gets delivered to the ALF's as soon as possible. Clean all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production or used at their station prior to end of shift daily as well as the trash taken out and tables and counter tops are sanitized as well as completing their daily cleaning list prior to the end of shift. Accomplish all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift. Immediately reports any unsafe condition or unsafe act, accident, or injury. Provide prompt and courteous service and be cordial to all team members and residents. Ensures bread, muffins and fruit are prepared fresh daily. Organize and maintain work areas, coolers and storage areas Perform other duties and tasks as required or assigned by the chef/supervisor/manager.
    Knowledge and Skills:
    • Ability to understand and follow directions.
    • Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
    • Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
    • Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
    • Detail-oriented and thorough.
    Physical Demands and Working Conditions Prolonged periods walking or standing. Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 60 pounds at a time. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently. Must frequently immerse hands in water. Must be able to work in a hot and damp environment.
    Pay:
    $15.00 per hour
