Full Job Description Position Objective:
To prepare high-quality, authentic German cuisine in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and cleanliness. The Line Cook will work as part of a team to execute dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of German dishes, including schnitzels, sausages, pretzels, spaetzle, and other traditional menu items. Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as grills, fryers, ovens, and slicers, safely and efficiently. Work multiple stations as needed, adapting to kitchen demands during peak hours. Monitor food stock levels and communicate shortages or prep needs to kitchen management. Ensure all food preparation and storage meet health and safety regulations, including proper handling of meats, dairy, and perishable ingredients. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following sanitation guidelines and completing regular deep cleaning tasks. Assist with prep work, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and making sauces, to keep the kitchen running smoothly. Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely and accurate food service. Handle customer allergies and special dietary requests with attention to detail and proper kitchen protocol.
Basic Qualifications:
Previous experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant, preferably with exposure to German or European cuisine. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, including frying, grilling, roasting, and sautéing. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment. Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices. Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and work in a hot kitchen. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely. Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and time management skills.

Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency during every shift. Work efficiently under pressure, handling high volumes of orders while maintaining accuracy and speed. Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring cleanliness and proper food handling. Be punctual, dependable, and prepared to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Show initiative by assisting with prep work, restocking stations, and keeping the kitchen organized. Communicate effectively with team members and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth service. Adapt to menu changes and special requests while maintaining consistency in execution. Take pride in crafting authentic German dishes and contributing to a positive dining experience.
