In this vital role, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily preparation of meals for the Meals on Wheels Program as well as all other Kane Center food business venues under the direction of the Chef. Maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen. Must be able to work independently in the absence of staff members. Responsibilities 1. Knowledge of all kitchen equipment/utensils and ensure that kitchen equipment/utensils are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations. 2. Follow regulatory requirements for food handling, sanitation and safety. 3. Ensure health department inspections meet excellent reports. 4. Assist Chef with health department inspections and follow up on all required action. 5. Prepare, season and cook food as recipes require and ensure high standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance. 6. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications ServSafe Certification Commercial Cooking Experience, with dietary restricted menus Experience in high volume cooking & production of meals for Meals on Wheels, and Kane Cuisine programs Knowledge of nutritional menu planning, food handling, and food safety practices required Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food industry standards necessary Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and guest interaction
Technical Skills:
