Job Description

Line cooks are the backbone of a restaurant kitchen, ensuring a steady flow of delicious food that meets the expectations of hungry customers.
Responsibilities:
Prep and Cook:
Setting up and stocking their assigned station with ingredients and supplies. Preparing ingredients by chopping, mixing, and creating sauces according to recipes. Cooking menu items using various techniques like grilling, frying, and sautéing. Maintaining consistent quality and presentation of dishes.
Time Management and Workflow:
Prioritizing tasks and ensuring food gets out on time. Following recipes and procedures to maintain consistent cooking times. Communicating effectively with other line cooks to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
Maintaining a clean and organized work station. Following all food safety protocols to prevent contamination. Cleaning and sanitizing equipment at the end of the shift.
Other Duties:
Restocking inventory and completing food prep logs. Plate dishes or expedite orders during busy periods.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience in an upscale kitchen. Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good communication skills are essential. Basic knife skills, knowledge of safe food handling practices, and the ability to follow instructions are necessary. Overall, being a line cook is a great way to develop culinary skills, teamwork, and time management abilities. It's a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and contribute to a successful kitchen.
