Line Cook (High‑Volume Upscale) Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and reliable Line Cook to join our high‑volume kitchen team. This role is ideal for a cook with 1-2 years of experience in casual or upscale restaurant environments who thrives in fast‑paced service and understands the importance of speed, consistency, and teamwork. The Line Cook will be responsible for executing menu items accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality standards during busy service periods. This position requires strong kitchen fundamentals, a sense of urgency, and the ability to perform under pressure in a collaborative environment. Essential Functions Prepare and cook menu items quickly and consistently during high‑volume service Execute recipes according to established standards for taste, portioning, and presentation Set up, stock, and maintain assigned stations to ensure service readiness Maintain strong awareness of timing and ticket flow during service Complete prep tasks including chopping, slicing, portioning, and batching to support volume Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and safety standards Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout each shift Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness guidelines Communicate clearly with chefs and teammates to support smooth service execution Support other stations as needed to ensure efficient kitchen flow Monitor station supplies and alert kitchen leadership to low inventory Perform additional duties as assigned by the leadership team Qualifications 1-2 years of line cook experience in a casual or upscale, high‑volume restaurant kitchen Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment Working knowledge of basic cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and knife skills Strong teamwork and communication skills Sense of urgency with attention to quality and consistency Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak service times as required Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods during shifts Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs, including food trays, pots, and supplies Perform repetitive motions such as chopping, stirring, and plating Work in a hot, fast‑paced kitchen environment near ovens, grills, and ranges Maintain physical stamina to support long shifts and sustained volume Benefits Health, Dental, Life, and Disability Insurance (subject to applicable waiting periods) PTO benefit (begin accruing at 10 days off, based on average hours worked) Sick Days & Paid Leave Tuition Reimbursement 401(k) with company match Team member discounts Opportunities for growth and advancement within a multi‑concept hospitality group Oxford Commons is an equal opportunity employer.
