Fry Cook Food and Wine Solutions Atlanta, GA Job Details Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Food production Food handling Teamwork Cooking Frying Knife skills Kitchen stations Full Job Description Position Summary The Fry Cook is responsible for preparing all fried menu items to our quality and presentation standards. This role plays a vital part in ensuring consistency, speed, and accuracy during service, particularly in the restaurant's fast-paced takeout and catering operations. The Fryer Cook must maintain high levels of organization, cleanliness, and attention to food safety at all times. Key Responsibilities Operate fryers and related equipment safely and efficiently. Prepare and cook fried food items (such as chicken, fish, and sides) according to our recipes and standards. Monitor oil temperature and quality throughout the shift; filter and change oil as needed. Maintain proper rotation, labeling, and storage of all fried items and ingredients. Coordinate with line servers and expo staff to ensure timely completion of orders. Keep fryer station clean, stocked, and organized at all times. Follow portion control and quality standards to minimize waste and maintain consistency. Monitor food temperatures and presentation before items leave the kitchen. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations. Support other kitchen team members during peak service periods as directed by management. Participate in daily cleaning and closing procedures for the fry station and surrounding areas. Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a high-volume restaurant or commercial kitchen preferred. Strong understanding of fryer operations, oil management, and food safety. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Dependable and punctual with strong attention to detail. Basic knife and prep skills are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle heavy equipment safely. Work in hot kitchen environments with exposure to fryer oil and heat. Work Environment Our Restaurant maintains a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on quality, safety, and consistency. Performance Expectations Maintain consistent product quality and portion accuracy. Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines. Communicate clearly and respectfully with BOH and FOH staff. Demonstrate dependability, cleanliness, and professionalism in every shift.
