Duties Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability. Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation guidelines, and safety protocols. Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling dishes efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas to uphold health regulations. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food with precision and timeliness. Serve dishes promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive service. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred. Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques are essential. Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience are advantageous. Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety standards is required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent food handling skills with a focus on hygiene and safety compliance. Culinary experience within the food industry or catering services is a plus.
