Dorothy's is an acclaimed culinary destination on St. Simons Island, opened in May 2021 and known for its thoughtful food, exceptional craft cocktails, and warm hospitality. Our menu blends Asian influences, coastal ingredients, and classic oyster house traditions , with a strong emphasis on in-house preparation, high-quality sourcing, and creative execution. We are looking for a dedicated Line Cook to join our kitchen team and help execute our menu with consistency, care, and attention to detail. Area Responsibilities Prep:
Making sauces, marinades, dressings, and mise en place from scratch daily. Knife Work:
Performing precise vegetable, fruit, herb, and garnish preparation. Seafood:
Shucking oysters, prepping shellfish, cooking fish, lobster, and other seafood. Butchery:
Assisting with fish and meat butchery depending on experience. Fire & Grill:
Building and maintaining a wood-burning fire and grilling meats, vegetables, and seafood. Service:
Executing dishes during service with consistency, timing, and attention to presentation. Plating:
Artfully plating dishes according to Dorothy's standards. Teamwork:
Collaborating with chefs and teammates on prep, service, organization, and new menu ideas. Cleanliness:
Maintaining a clean, organized workstation and assisting with end-of-shift breakdown. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, curious, organized, and motivated to improve. Prior restaurant experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who brings a strong attitude, respect for ingredients, and a desire to learn. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, taking direction, staying organized during service, and contributing to a positive kitchen culture. Experience with seafood, oyster shucking, wood-fire cooking, or from-scratch prep is a plus, but not required.
